Anyone need water...we have extra

It's come a flood here in Arkansas.  Rivers and creeks are blown out.  Only place to fish is local waters.

The tree line is usually above the water line.

When you don't hook up...only thing better is watching a buddy hook up...

>40" grass carp
I wasn't able to participate in a grip and grin, but we all helped point out and scout a few potential's.  It was  a successful day in my book.  Just happy to be part of the action.

Warmer weather is coming and that will mean active fish.  Won't be long now!

  1. That is a beast of a grasser! Don't give us too much rain, all this snow melt should be enough.

    1. The scary thing is, that was an average size grasser for this local lake. I have seen a few that are closer to 50". They are fun to catch from a kayak.

  2. I'm trying to find some takers for our extra water here in middle TN as well. Tailwaters are blown out so it looks like I'll be hitting lakes and mountain freestone streams for a while...

    1. A back-up plan is a must this time of year. In my area the rivers/creeks usually get back to normal flow quickly. Who knows with the TW's. But I'm happy to be fishing...lots of water and fish to find. Have kayak will travel!

Take note over flow water always brings in more fish and rejuvenates the streams, I have a feeling you will be on the water this coming week. Spring has arrived!!! Good looking gold reel in the boat what is the brand? I am always a stickler for any reel with a color other than black. Thanks for sharing
P.S. I am making my first trip of this season this afternoon, temps in the 70's here today and next week looks even better, lots of fishing ahead for me in the coming weeks. Thanks for sharing

    1. I agree Bill. The extra water is a part of Spring and keeps them healthy. Ozark rivers/creeks wouldn't be what they are w/o the floods changing the bottoms and cleaning them out. Not certain, but I think it's an Orvis (not mine, I'll ask next time I see the owner). Great to hear you're getting out, look'n forward to hearing about the experience. With the weather this week being so nice, I'll be fishing...maybe everyday!

    1. Thanks! It was all just thrown together last minute but we had a good time. I don't get the chance to fish with buddies all that often, (kids, work, life) when it works out...there's no question it'll be a good day!
