I also enjoy drifting helplessly in the wind. I spotted a bunch of carp, but...they spotted me 1st, Fun!
The new fishing hat getting slimmed. It's properly broken in now. |
Not to mention the excitement of getting a good shot at a grasser and just when I make a cast the wind goes gale force and sends my bug oh so close to my right ear. Good Fun!
It gets better. I was doing my best to be a sail (standing) and almost blown into the lake. Luckily, I fell back into my kayak seat. Awesome Fun!
This post is meant to be humorous. Any day on the water is a good day. Plus, I managed to fool a few on top. The trick was to smack them on the head with it and get their attention. A couple that didn't come up to look, ate the dropper...yes I went trout on the carp. Mixing it up keeps it exciting, and that's Fun!
I've finally found the secret of catching carp by reading this very blog. Hit them on top of the head. I'm going spin fishing tomorrow with a barbell as a dropper! Only you Drew, could call this a fun day.
ReplyDeleteGood luck Howard. The barbell should absolutely get their attention. I imagine a few might beach themselves fleeing in a panic.
DeleteWind can be a pain in the butt for sure, but at least you didn't have a big streamer with dumbell eyes smashed into the back of your head. That is REALLY fun!!!
ReplyDeleteOuch, no I haven't had that kind of fun, yet! I did get one stick in the ear piece of my sunglasses once...close call, lol.
DeleteSounds like a fun day to me! On Monday I went out on a river that was running high and it was very windy. Oh, and I was by myself, so, I had to paddle back up river to my car ha.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great day to me. I'm a big fan of the tilt a whirl!
Good Luck, Howard!
Dude, I hate the paddle back. It's always into the wind...what's up with that?!
DeleteFun, I'll bet. I've heard of guy's tangling with large stripers that have pulled them around in their kayaks.
ReplyDeleteAnything with the strength to pull a kayak is a sure way to a good time.
DeleteDrew
ReplyDeleteI just wonder how many of us older guys would try the spin and standing in the kayak in heavy wind??? I can remember those daring days. Thanks for sharing
Diffidently, not something I would suggest.
