Hatch

If you were on a stream and ran across this:




You'd be in your happy place.  Life is good.




These little bugs were everywhere.  But this wasn't happening anywhere near water.  




I was out in the neighborhood when I came across this hatch.  Curious?


Some bugs with wings some without

After a few minutes the hatch fades and the little insects drop their wings and become.....


Full destruction mode in a few minutes 

TERMITES!!!!!

      Caught my attention also, at first I thought they were ants. Until I got a good look at one...no segmented body. Bad news!

      I'd much rather see them there. The birds were keyed in on them, a big woodpecker was chasing them down.

    I guessed termites but I"m not sure I've seen any in real life.

      It was the 1st I've seen them hatch. It was short, only a few minutes, so I'm sure most of the time it goes unnoticed.
