As an active runner, I also check out running tips but don't usually post them here. Yet, I ran across this video about creating a "lace lock", seems legit for running. I'm also going to try it on my wading boots and my shoes for wet wading....and that makes it fishing related. I'll report back.
That is a very interesting tip. I don't run anywhere anymore, but, still could see the advantage of a tight fitting shoe that doesn't come untied while fishing or walking for exercise. Thanks, Drew.
I can say, after a 7 mile run, it holds up well. No knot slippage or loosening...the good thing is even if it comes untied, it won't loosen. Keep that in mind when you tighten the laces, I had to adjust b/c I over tightened at 1st.
Drew, Next time we see each other remind me to show you a double knot I use on my boots and most shoes. As you make the wrap around the lace as you finish the knot, wrap it around twice then through the knot hole, it will never come untied and works much better than the traditional child's double knot. Would like to send you some pictures, maybe another email address should you agree?? Thanks
Drew I've got to try this technique with my grandchildren, their shoes seems to coming untied all the time, I think this tie solution will solve the problem. Thanks for sharing

DeleteWould love to see both!
After I first saw your post I re-laced my wading shoes. Great tip Drew.
ReplyDeleteThx Howard, now you just need the rivers in your area to return to normal levels. Hope you get some time in a river real soon!

Drew! Sweet tip! Gonna try it on the waders! Tightlines!
ReplyDeleteI hope it works for you. I tried them on my running shoes and seemed to help. Only bad part is taking them off...there really isn't any slip.
